The Family Development Perspective, Functions of the Family, and Interaction

The concept of the family life cycle, family function, and interaction are central to this perspective. Parents have a responsibility to provide economic support and give emotional security to children. The interaction of family members ~~ the back and forth talk, is important to the well-being of the family as a unit.

Learning basic family life education will provide a better environment for all family members, especially the children. Through good communication, parents can develop trust and a sense of honesty with each other and their children.

Children do not come with instructions or directions. Parents may lack the knowledge and/or skills to effectively socialize children and often are overwhelmed with the responsibility of caring for their children and themselves.
